Before I properly begin my Essay I would like to say that I’m really nervous and my thoughts maybe scattered but here me out. My English year has been filled with many emotions and huge amounts of knowledge. Keeping the knowledge was a vital step. With my countless notes I revised again and again. This is the final test, an exam if I may, and what I’ve been taught will be put to the test.

My Thesis Is on the Tempest, My thesis states: the whole story and sequence of events is related to the beginning of time itself. It’s a challenging thesis about such a big topic being written down in a play, and now it’s being written down in one page.

I believe this is true and there is evidence that points this out. Scientifically the world and the whole universe was created by the big bang. A Huge cosmic explosion caused by the whole universe converging into a tiny dot, and then blasting into the whole world. Earth was first a piece of rock then meteors rain onto Earth. It size growing fast. There was no life at that time; it was hell on earth chaotic fumes of hot boiling gas filled the skies while thunder and rain poured onto the waters of earth. That last sentence is familiar to the storm in the begging of the play where there was a struggle for life. Getting away from scientific evidence. Religion plays a role here. The world was created by god and sent two humans. Adam and Eve, the first people and living organisms that time. The Garden of Eden represents the island that Prospero lives on. This none populated and Small Island is a peaceful one.

When the humans came to the Garden of Eden they were curios and knowledge less of what’s around them. It was only when Adam, influenced by the devil, picked the fruit of a tree that was to be forbidden to touch. It was then, that we humans obtained knowledge. This was also when the Garden became tainted by a sin that was lead by the devil, and curiosity. And more humans came and now we’re destroying the earth. Like In LOTF they too landed of the island by a crash. The crash hat scared the world. In the book there were two planed assassination One to be very serious and the other o be comedy, but both led to death. These plans were made by the ambition for supremacy. This attribute always leads to death. In Anne Frank, Hitler wanted to control the world and sculpted whatever he wanted. He was the cause of many genocides and death of almost all Jews in Europe.

In a perfect world everything is good but in our world there is an equal balance of good and evil. We see “good” as god and bad as in the devil. The god in the tempest was Prospero and the devil Caliban. Prospero has amazing magic and teaches a lesson to the people of earth, while Caliban, The devil influences an assassination on Prospero. Prospero uses Mercy while Caliban uses Revenge. The two hate each other and have no common ground. It sounds as if I am a stereotype, but seeing that some of this evidence is very debatable it’s hard not to be. Revenge a topic we know is bad and discuss as forbidden, but no matter how you look at it revenge is something that everybody does. It’s something that drives us to do suppository justice but rather into an unknowing path that will one day kill us all.

These paragraphs are filled with hardcore facts from science textbooks and from the bible itself. This book could be prophesying our future but this is a strong thesis with many of the facts in everyday life. It took me to be a Self-directed learner that is ad ESLR well achieved. The Supporting facts came from the time I spent researching many sites and knowing many religious facts from the Quorum. In the begging my time management had been an issue for me since day one. I had to interpret various forms of media and convert them into what I used today. This essay shows my growth in my writing skills and use of grammar that has always been below average. I also felt that I had improved my organization and following procedures properly. I conclude this essay with a good bye to you Mr. R and a thank you.

Hi guys I know I am a bit late with the introduction and all, I notice how the question you posted was not answered and so I will answer it.
I Farouk and I am Malaysian born so I know my country well, but I am use to travel a lot and my first language is English. So far I am living in Malaysia and it has been four years since so. Right now I am living in my grandmother’s house, this house is located at walking distances to all my cousins houses’. All of my cousins are best friends to me instead of cousins. I just feel really lucky to have all my cousins close to me instead of others where they have their relatives spread all over the world. In school, I’m not in the “in” club but I have my best friends and that’s fine with me. I don’t hang out often, but when I do it’s always the big mall that’s just three minutes away from my house without traffic but that’s never.
Because of changes in a different mall this mall I go to is no longer the biggest mall in Malaysia. The new mall is probably fifteen to twenty minutes away from my house but the mall is huge. Now you’re probably thinking that that couldn’t be so big, but it’s big all right. The mall has about four of five floors and five sections where there are three hundred to one thousand shops each. This place has everything game shops, computer shops, two cinema complexes, millions of restaurants, and shops of all kinds. Before my brother left, we use to hang out there a lot.
There is a giant leap of malls here, but my best cousin hang out and a small mall, which are one to five minutes. It’s puny compared to that previous mall I was talking about we just go there to play games at the game shop because we don’t have play station 2s but I have a game cube. Getting back to the subject When we finish playing games there we have food at the shop near there. I’m a friend to the owners so I talk to them, getting cheaper prices is easy to do.
There is another place I used to hang out at but it close down because of robberies that happened there. It’s a cyber café that specialized in games and has extremely good computers. We play a lot of Warcraft Frozen Thorne‰ Doda allstars and that was the most played game there. They’re other games too but that’s my favorite.
There are a lot of places that I go to but are not considered my hangouts and that conclude this entry.

Anne Frank Final Assessment
Memorial and Infomercial

Design and create a memorial to Anne Frank and the victims of the Holocaust
A memorial is something designed to preserve the memory of a person, or event. You will design and create either a model or blueprint/layout of a monument. This memorial can use multi-media. If you want to have flat screens projecting a movie, or speakers playing a song, you can. You simply must explain these features in your design plan, and insert them into your model or blueprint.

Design and create a commercial or short film spreading Anne’s hopeful message of peace

Questions

How are symbols, images, and sounds and other conventions used in visual media?

iMovie
In the iMovie, we searched for pictures on the net and we took those images and inserted them into the iMovie so that we could recapture the reminiscence of World War 2, the holocaust, and Anne Frank. We used sounds, such as recordings, music, and downloaded sounds from the internet. We used recordings to enhance the pictures and make them seem more like a reality. The music was used to set the mood and many of the lyrics are related to Anne Frank and World War 2 victims. For example after Anne’s family and her pictures had been shown the song changed into a sadder and more depressed song when Margot’s letter to the concentration camp appeared. For symbols for the movie we had gas chambers and chimneys to symbolize death and being trapped with no escape. Also the trains symbolize life being caught and put to death. The Judd badges and the Nazi symbols show how diverse and separated they are from one another. Symbols were in almost every single picture and will be found if you really look in depth.

Memorial

For the memorial, we showed images of everyone’s personalities, for example, we showed Margot, with an A+ beside her showing how perfect she was. We showed a big rock with each war victims name engraved on it showing that everyone’s lives has been acknowledged. The holocaust room has a door that shows people dying and trapped. This symbolizes how the Jewish were treated and felt when they were abducted by the Nazis. Also there is a cut up carpet on the floor after the room of friends that shows how rugged and unruly their lifestyle were after the Nazis actions of discrimination were put into force. In the peace room there are yellow flowers that shows how the world has come to harmony and all is in serenity and well-being. Also this memorial goes in a type of order for first Anne was a happy girl who had her friends and family however after the Nazi’s attacked they had a secret Annexe and were discovered so they were sent to concentration camps. Sadly when peace had come Anne and most of her family and friends had already died and said their goodbyes to the world they once knew.

What are the ways in which image-makers carefully construct meaning?

iMovie

Some ways they do this is by capturing a specific cause of what is happening now. For example to show death and execution the iMovie has shown a chimney to show how every puff of smoke shows the remains of a dead Jew leaving the Earth. Also it shows a gas chamber to show how they did mass killing all at once in vulgar ways. Another thing that image-makers construct meaning is the colours. Like if you show black and white you will see how ancient or long ago it was or maybe it would make the picture seem more serious where as a colourful picture will not be as serious and mature.

Memorial

In the images of the memorial I have pasted them in various ways. This shows some meaning because for example if I put it crooked you can see how messed up and crowded the place was really like and you would get some feeling of imperfection or wrong doings, though if straight and neat you will have a feeling vice versa of a crooked image/picture.

How are techniques used in visual media to influence or appeal to a particular audience?

iMovie

Some techniques we used in visual media are how we changed the colours and made the background suit what the topic was. Also the pictures showed things that are related to Anne Frank, World War Two, and the holocaust. Also the fonts and the settings of the text have been arranged in a way to get people to pay attention and feel the way we want them to. Visual media pays a very important role in the iMovie and send out a message without really being said.

Memorial

The techniques used in visual media to appeal to the audience are the colour and settings. I have set them up in various different ways so not everything seems the same and dull. This adds a bit of spice to the project and it becomes more lively and more of a reality. Also I frequently rotate colours for the project to be more attractive.

Blooms Taxonomy

Knowledge - Describe the symbols, images, and sounds you used to complete your project
For the Imovie we used pictures of a train with the sound of the train moving, we used pictures of The Franks peaceful life before they were caught with the song how to save a life (in craniological order), we used pictures of the actual fighting we had the sound of people crying, we had a very important picture of the final solution we had people screaming and crying, and lastly we change the song to Emenium and had two pictures of Margot and Anne Frank’s grave with a quote.
For the memorial the doors, which symbolize beings trapped with no escape.

Comprehension - Discuss how these symbols, images, and sounds carefully construct meaning
For the Imovie some symbols that we used to elements that caused such things in the world. Such as the chimney, which does not show the whole picture however if you look in depth to it you will see that it symbolizes people dying/dead. As for the images we first did all of them in chronological order according to Anne’s age and after Margot’s letter to the concentration camp we showed pictures of the Secret Annexe and after they got caught pictures of the concentration camps were shown and the slaughtering or the things used to slaughter the Jews in mass numbers. In the end we showed Anne’s grave and a few quotes to the world. As for the sounds for the concentration camp we had people and babies screaming in pain and also for the end when you see the grave we have Eminem’s song “When I’m Gone” to symbolize Anne’s death.

For the memorial we show symbols by in the room if the jew’s discrimination we showed a red silk carpet that as torn for it symbolized the jews of how they used to have a great rich life but then it all was tattered away. Also there is a door on the room of concentration camps which showed how the jews were trapped and dying, but were fighting to escape. Another symbol were the yellow flowers thrown on the floor to symbolize peace and harmony. For the images we have Anne’s interests in the first room and in the Family room aka 2nd room it shows Margot with an A+ on the side to show how she was viewed as perfect, same goes for the rest of the pictures.

Application - Explain how these symbols, images, and sounds will influence or appeal to your audience. Illustrate the symbols, images, and sounds (This will be done when you actually do the project)

For the imovie we used modern sounds to capture peoples attention and the images show world war 2 and almost everyone can relate to that because it affected everyones families in some way. As got the symbols there were things such as the jewish badges and nazi badges to show how diverse and separate the were from one another.

Analysis - Compare the symbols, images, and sounds you chose. Which are the most powerful? Why?

The symbols for the movie was concentration camps which symbolized death and trains which symbolized lives being caught and about to reach their death. Some images we used were things such as Anne and her family along with all the other sad things, we first started before the war and after to create a more dramatic effect. As for the sounds we used different music according to lyrics and tunes to suit the images/symbols. The most powerful was probably sounds for it made people feel a certain way about each image.

The symbols for the memorial was that people were dying on the door and were trying to escape, also we have people starving in concentration camps. Also at the end in the peace room we have yellow flowers to symbolize peace and hope. For the images we showed how people lived through each situation, the people itself, or maybe some side things that happened during that event. (No sounds) I think the most powerful were the pictures for it gave people straight forward information where as the symbols you had to really look in it in depth.

Synthesis - Create or design a memorial to Anne Frank and the victims of the Holocaust, or Design and create a commercial or short film spreading Anne’s hopeful message of peace. (Doing the project will accomplish this aspect of Bloom’s Taxonomy)

Evaluation - Summarize and grade the final product and the process to accomplish this task
The final product of our iMovie was well constructed. It was a good introduction to Anne Frank and the war. A few drafts of the movie were made before the final copy. Firstly we got all the pictures, music, sounds, and symbols. We then organized them by the order of which they would be shown. We put this into a movie and kept editing it until we were happy.
The final product of the model of the memorial was very well thought-out. Each room has a specific idea to show. Most of it was very well constructed and looks well made. In both projects a lot of time and effort was put into it and we had very good time management.

ESLR’s
Completing this task will involve the use of many ESLR’s. Your write up should also include a paragraph or two about how your group used the ESLR’s. If you want to be successful in this project please pay close attention to the Effective Communicator ESLR. The key to this project is collaboration. So please also include a paragraph or two about who did what, and how effectively they were at completing their assigned tasks.

iMovie:

Some ESLR’s that were used was effective communicator for we have to be able to communicate with people through a different way and we are being a critical thinker so we can think of many ways to present it to the audience. Another ESLR that this covers is an academic achiever for we have gone to find over 65 pictures and have put in a lot of effort to record sounds and find them on the internet. During the process of making the movie, it is important to be a self directed learner for there are no set guidelines on what the iMovie should be there fore you have to think about it for yourself and manage to put it out on paper and share it with others and that will make you be and involved citizen for you are letting others in on your idea and giving them a better understanding of the topic.

The memorial showed effective communicating skills for it manages to show and tell everyone about Anne frank, World War 2, and the holocaust. Also information is shown in various different ways. The memorial also shows a self directed learner because you have to stay up and finish gluing and cutting, along with drawing and a lot of other art related things. Also this shows an academic achiever for you have to really be neat and concentrate on what message you want to give out in order to have a successful project and to capture and audience’s attention. Another thing that the memorial shows is critical thinker because you have to really think on how you want to place something and where or maybe you have to question yourself on if there would be enough space for “that”.

Josh had made the whole iMovie with some assistance from Novia, while Farouk commented on it, while Novia on the other hand did the whole memorial with the help of Josh and feed back from Farouk. Also Farouk brought some supplies needed for the project such as the Styrofoam. Every member of the group put in effort to make this project a successful one and tried their best to make sure we all manage to complete the work on time.

Using resources to the best of your efforts.

Exp: We used all the tools in iMovie and tried to use it to enhance what we were talking about.

Grade: Excellent

Checklist for project

We have:

Making war has no excuses, those who say that they are fighting in war for their religion is probably the lowest you could possibly say. Borders that separate countries from each other are just lines in the sand. Most wars are fought for land, but why can’t people agree on something. Is it natural for some human beings to be hard headed? These people are like those people who stare at you if you’re playing an awesome game of “House of the Dead”, or “Dance, Dance revolution”. It almost akin to that look you get once you see something that’s amazing. Killing each other in war is similar to arguing over the last piece of Halloween candy you got last year. War is probably the biggest events that are on television. Flashback to English, Lord of The Flies, this topic had reminded me how Jack, (secondary character) gains control by playing off the other kids fear. This conflict between the U.S which is always regarded as the heroes and The Middle Eastern countries of Asia. They are just scared of each other. They nearly attack because they are afraid of one of them hurting each other. I’d say that the “Weapons of Mass Destruction” was just a little kid who mad a practical joke. The U.S was just waiting for an excuse like this. The weapon of mass destruction in this case was George Bush. “Good and evil” don’t exist; they are just words that make others feel better about who they are. It’s the biggest excuses the world knows. You ask a little kid who is playing a game why he is killing the other guys, “Because they’re the bad guys and they only want to kill”. This can sound scary, but just ask. Big wars have the history and tittles that say, “The biggest mistake”, “it won’t happen again”. George Bush has repeated Napoleon’s big mistake in the battle of waterloo. Bush has repeated many things that nobody can really point out, don’t believe me go online and do some research. The power of man is unlimited, but men have limited others future. Those who can do almost whatever they want to do, do war. Anne frank has mentioned how philosophers and even politicians can’t answer the reason of war. They can’t see why because they only see their own benefit better than others well being. The rich tends to be the most short sighted people of our nation. Not saying that we should exclude them from society, but instead see what it is like to have some things beyond your reach. The few things you think about when making the choice of war. Once I take over I have more land, I have more resources, I,I,I,I. Their well being is more important then their nation’s. They probably run a find and replace on all the, Is and put the, nations. Some people don’t help others unless there is something in it for them. I can’t deny that I even think like that and that is something I have to fix.

Archeologist-very similar to an anthropologist

Economist- A person who specializes in economy

Historian- a person who specializes in history

Linguist- a person who studies ancient language

Theologian- A person who studies religion of civilizations

Essential Questions: Throughout your journey, keep in mind what you want to inform the world about the Aztecs:
Who are the Aztecs? The Aztecs were a civilization that had no home and was mostly rejected to stay in foreign lands that reminds me of the Jews in WW2. The Aztecs were rejected constantly for their “barbaric sacrifices and behavior. Most of Mexico that day hated the Aztecs and feared them for their warrior skills.

What made them a civilization?

Is there evidence today of Aztec influence?

Step 1:
Where did the Aztecs originally live? What prompted them to relocate? Where did they end up and why? Chose an artifact, which you feel best, represents this event. Support your choice. In Atzlan, which has an unsure location. It is said to be located northwest of Mexico.
Step 2:
What were the pros and cons of settling in the middle of a lake? Describe the lay of the land and chose an image for your exhibit.
Their needed building resources, like stone, and a firm foundation wasn’t available. Especially how they had to use sticks, and logs to make their houses. The only good thing about this place is that there is a lot of snakes and that what Aztecs like.

Step 3:
Which gods were worshiped? The pyramids were built for what purpose? Xipe – Totec, HUITZILOPOCHTLI, Tezcatlipoca, Quetzalcoatl, Tlaloc, and Chalchiuhtlicue. The sacred pyramids of the Aztecs were specifically to worship the gods by human sacrifice.

Step 4:
Who are the different members of Aztec society? What are their roles? Choose an artifact that represents the social order of Aztec society. Slaves: The children of poor parents could be sold, usually for only a certain time period. Slaves could buy back their freedom. The slaves that escaped and reached the royal palace without being caught were given their freedom instantly.
Commoners: The most numerous social group was known as the macehualtin; these people were engaged in agriculture and the common trades. Although they worked the land in family units and were allowed to keep their produce, the inhabitants of the neighborhood or calpulli collectively owned the land itself.

Commoners were given lifetime ownership of an area of land. The lowest groups of commoners were not allowed to own property. They were tenant farmers; they just got to use the land and never be owners.
The lower social orders were made up by peasants, who like the European serfs, were attached to the lands owned by the nobility and were obliged to cultivate them in exchange for part of the harvest.
Nobility:
The nobilities were the people who were nobles by birth, priests, and those who earned their rank.
Step 5:
The Aztecs have a spoken language. What was it called? Did they use any other forms of communication? Include an example of either written or visual language of the Aztecs. The spoken language of the Aztecs is called Nahua. Their writing was in glyphs and the glyphs were combined to make sentences.
Step 6:
How did the Aztecs grow food and what was their main crop? Did they trade and with whom? Did they have a currency (money)? Find an image for your exhibit about making a living Aztec style. Cocoa beans were the Aztecs currency. The cocoa beans were even referred to as the drink for nobility. There important and long forgotten crop is called the chia seed oil.
Step 7:
Discuss the Impact of Spanish Contact 1519 from both the Aztec point of view and the Spanish point of view. Find an image depicting this event. The Aztecs saw the leader of the Spanish as the reincarnation of one of their gods, the believed in that because of one there calendars or religious events charters said that that the humanized form of a god would come from the east coast of modern Mexico. It was weird how Cortes arrived at the same place for told to the prediction .The Spanish (mostly other Indian tribes) thought the Aztecs were barbarians and murderers because they had seen there way of human sacrifice and how one of the Indian kings daughter was sacrificed.
Step 8: Fall of the Empire
Discuss La Malinche or Dona Marina. Debate her positive/negative impact on Mexico past and present. What does the term Mestizo refers to? What influences remain today from Aztec culture of the past?
La Malinche is a slave, interpreter, secretary, mistress, mother of the first “Mexican”. Her name spells controversy to Mexicans. The debate about how she is a traitor of how she saved Mexico from the, “bloodthirsty” rulers. The Aztecs are the ones who say that she is a traitor to Mexico, while the others say that she is a savoir. I say that Cortes was just controlling her and that was the reason why Cortes had so many Indian supporters. She did make what Mexico what it is today, and I think the Aztecs would have made Mexico a place of war then what it is today. So I finalize my decision that she did it all for the well being of Mexico.
The Term Mestizo means Mexican hater, it is a racist’s word that shouldn’t be said to any Mexicans.

Grow up; behave, you should know now you’re older. Grow up, in Anne Frank, she writes many types of arguments, many with her mother. I sometimes have these arguments with my dad, but I don’t usually feel anger after, in contrast to Anne, I think that I even more mature then her. It is probably the fact that she always had her way, although I still get scolded for what I do. Even when I act myself my parents expect someone other than me at times. When you are young, you are expected to be naughty and mischievous. When spoiled young everybody thinks that you are a little angel. You get what you want all the time and when you don’t, other people around you get annoyed at you. Anne is from a rich family and Anne has always been regarded as a cheerful little girl of twelve. Her mother isn’t very close to her and so they had arguments about growing up. She realizes that her mother isn’t the pain, she is.

This topic is in the category Anne Frank because this will be the question you are going to be asking yourself when you read this book. I know this because I have read the book before and it is a sad book. I don’t like to spoil stories not like some of my friends do. The entries you will write will change says Mr.R. Today’s web log is what the definition of courage is and in contrast, using the dictionary definition will not give me one-hundred and fifty words. My definition of courage is making more of a sacrifice than the others around for everybody’s benefit. It is almost like being a really big self-directed learner in the ESLRs in my school. I am not much of a courageous person but I do like adventure and danger. The courage process involves an obstacle which is your worst fear. And it doesn’t have to be a big fear. Courage is something that everybody does at one point in your life. I have already gone through the “courage process”. My fear of poisons in bugs maybe stupid but that I over came through birthday party of my friend. IN your comment you could write what your “courage process” was.
